Chief Executive - Mark Levy
Former Balmain, Parramatta and Penrith first grader, Levy played 99 first grade games before retiring at the end of 1985. He then took up a career in broadcasting before coming to Penrith and taking over the assistant chief executive position mid 1994.
In October 1996, Levy was given the job of chief executive, a role he continues in today.

1st Grade Coach - Royce Simmons
Simmons is widely regarded as Penrith�s first Australian international even though he was born in the small country town of Gooloogong near Cowra.
Simmons played a record 225 first grade games for Penrith between 1980-91 before retiring after the Panthers first premiership victory.
A NSW and Australian Kangaroo representative, Simmons went on to coach English club side Hull for two seasons (1992-93) before returning to Penrith and taking over the job as Panthers first grade coach with six games to go in 1994.

Matt Adamson - No. 21

Position: Fullback/second-row
Matt Adamson joined the Panthers from Parramatta in 1993. He had an outstanding season with Penrith�s top side in 1994 and followed that up with another solid year in 1995. In 1996 Adamson spent the entire season in the second-row where his speed and size made him a powerhouse performer.

Phil Adamson - No. 25

Position: Second-row/prop
The older brother of Matt, Phil Adamson is a tall, strong second rower with exceptional ball skills. Phil came to Penrith in 1993 and came third in the Norwich Rising Star Award that season. Between 1994-96 Phil became more selective with his passing game and even played a few games at prop, a position he could excel in 1997.

Fa'ausu Afoa - No. 24
Date of birth: 29/9/67
Weight: 112kg Height: 186cm
Position: Prop
A huge Kiwi front-row forward from New Zealand, Fa'ausu made a big impression on supporters in his first year in the top grade. A player of considerable talent, Afoa toured Australia with the New Zealand Residents side in 1994. Under coach Royce Simmons, Fa�ausu has developed into a fine front-row forward over the last two years. Hard to stop close to the line because of his mobility and size, the best from this big man, is yet to come.

David Alexander - No. 8

An experienced front-row forward, Alexander played representative football in 1993 when he turned out for City Firsts. A seasoned prop David was a key player for the Panthers in 95 and 96. In 1997 Alexander has set his sights on starting every game in first grade.

Greg Alexander - No. 55

Position: Halfback/fullback
Champion halfback Greg �Brandy� Alexander is back with the Panthers after spending the last two seasons with Auckland. An organising halfback with a brilliant running game, Alexander throws a terrific pass, is a great kicker in general play and can land goals with deadly accuracy. He is equally as effective in the fullback position, where his strong kick returns always gain plenty of yardage for his team mates. In the past Alexander has played plenty of representative football including City Origin, State of Origin for New South Wales and he has also been on two Australian Kangaroo Tours to Great Britain. Greg Alexander is without doubt one of Penrith�s most popular players and will no doubt play a vital role in any success the Panthers have in 1997.

Brett Boyd - No. 35

Position: Hooker
Brett Boyd is regarded as one of the finest young hookers in the game. A creative, tough free running dummy half in the stocky mould of Royce Simmons, Boyd is looking forward to a battle royal with Danny Farrar for the top job in season '97. At 24 Boyd is one of the most experienced players in the side, having made his first grade debut in Canberra at 18 years of age.

Robbie Beckett - No. 5
Date of birth: 1/2/74
Weight: 84kg Height: 183cm
Position: Wing
Beckett became Penrith's latest international when he was selected to play in the Super League Australian Nine's team in 1996. Robbie's greatest asset is his blinding speed and ability to score an endless supply of tries almost at will. A serious leg injury towards the end of 1996, stopped what was shaping as Beckett�s best year in grade. If injuries are kind to him Beckett has the potential to play for Australia again in 1997.

Darren Brown - No. 33

Weight: 100kg Height: 180cm
Position: Lock/second-row
Former South Sydney and Western Suburbs utility star, Brown joined the Panthers mid-way through 1994. In 1995 he developed into one of Penrith's most creative and hardworking forwards. As skilful as a halfback, Brown is a dangerous everytime he touches the ball. Whenever he was on the paddock in 1996 the Penrith side looked twice as good.

Steve Carter - No. 6

Position: Five-eight
Steve Carter in 1995 was one of the form players in the competition. That fact was backed up when he won the 1995 Panthers Player of the Year Award. A creative, stylish attacking player and a strong defender, Carter is known as 'The Dog' because he hounds any opposition player who has the ball. Carter has been named Club Captain in 1997 and is looking forward to renewing his scrumbase combination with returning team mate Greg Alexander.

Garen Casey - No. 3

Weight: 92kg Height: 187cm
Position: Utility/centre
This former Parramatta backline star made a big impression on the comp in the 1994 season. After an unlucky '95 season with injuries Garen, a former Australian Schoolboys star, made a big impression on Panther supporters in '96 playing in a variety of positions including halfback, five-eight and centre. A fine utility player, Casey is a youngster who shows plenty of promise.

Sid Domic - No.20
Date of Birth: 8/2/75
Weight: 92kg Height: 5ft'10
Position: Centre
Sid Domic had a sensational semi-final series for the Broncos reserves last year and his form caught the eye of several opposition coaches. In the end, Domic selected the Panthers as his new home with his number one ambition being to establish himself in first grade. A stocky, powerful running centre, Domic is not one to stand around and let the ball come to him. A former backrower, Domic is a player who likes to get involved and make things happen.

Morvin Edwards - No. 12
Date of birth: 8/5/68
Weight: 87kg Height: 183cm
Position: Utility/lock
Former Balmain star and Kiwi International, Morvin Edwards played extremely well in his debut season with the Panthers in 1995. A skillful backline utility player who can handle fullback, centre, lock or wing with great flair and reliability, Edwards will be looking to get back into the N.Z. test team this season. In 1996 Edwards was voted as Clubman of the Year, an honour he truly deserved after an outstanding season at lock.

Gordon Falcon - No. 23
Date of birth: 7/4/70
Weight: 107kg Height: 190cm
Position: Second-row/prop
One of the club�s star signings for '96, Falcon showed he had what it takes when he played first grade games for Penrith. Falcon, a former Rugby Union player from New Zealand with an incredible try scoring record was described by experts over the years as 'a rugby league player playing union'. He made a good fist of league in his first year and should improve even further in 1997.

Danny Farrar - No. 9
Date of birth: 2/4/68
Weight: 83kg Height: 180cm
Position: Hooker
This former Metropolitan Cup footballer made a successful transition to the Panthers top grade side in 1993 as a replacement hooker/halfback. 1994 was Danny's best year with the Panthers and he was rewarded for his consistency by being named in the Kangaroo train-on squad. In 1996 Farrar had a running battle with Brett Boyd for the first grade spot before relinquishing his position because of injury. A fit and refreshed Danny Farrar will return in 1997 ready to do battle again.

Mark Faumuina - No. 22
Date of birth: 2/10/70
Weight: 97kg Height: 190cm
Position: Second-row
Mark is a strong, tough hard running forward with a big heart and a good workrate. After playing in the domestic rugby league competition in New Zealand in 1995, Faumuina had a solid year with Penrith last season and will be one of the players pushing hard for a first grade spot in 1997.

Jody Gall - No. 50

Position: Lock/second-row
After playing in the Panthers semi-final President's Cup side in 1993, Gall graduated to first grade in '94 and played a key role in the team during the second half of the competition. He played even better in �95 and won selection in the prestigious Norwich Rising Star team. In 1996 only a series of niggling injuries kept Gall from being a mainstay in the top side. Quick on his feet and a great hole-runner, Gall is set for a super year in �97.

Ryan Girdler - No. 13
Date of birth: 19/9/72

Position: Centre
Ryan Girdler had his most successful season ever for the Panthers in 1995 and was the leading pointscorer for the team with 150 points which comprised of 10 tries and 55 goals. Girdler will be Penrith's number one centre in 1996 and a lot of backline responsibility will come his way as a result. Girdler�s crowning glory came just recently when he was selected to represent Australia in the 1997 Super League World Nine�s tournament in Townsville. Girlder impressed many keen judges with a two try performance.

Craig Gower - No. 7

Position: Five-eight/halfback
Gower is another local junior who many are touting as the 'next home grown superstar'. Gower showed a football maturity beyond his years when he helped lead his high school side McCarthy to a Commonwealth Bank Cup Grand Final in 1995. In 1996, Gower really came of age playing a starring role in the Panthers impressive late season victories against Manly and Parramatta. A creative, stocky, halfback or five-eight, Gower has the ability to play a variety of positions. An incredible talent.

Paul Johnson - No. 26
Date of Birth: 8/5/73

Position: Prop/Second-row
Talented prop Paul Johnson joins the Panthers after spending the last three seasons with the Broncos. Last year with the Broncos he was voted the Most Consistent Reserve Grade Player for 1996 and he comes to the Panthers looking for an opportunity to play first grade. Big, strong and mobile, Johnson can off load a ball in traffic and enjoys making the hard yards needed to give his team an advantage. A strong defender with a good �football brain�, Johnson has all the skills needed to become a regular first grade player with the Panthers.

Peter Jorgensen - No. 4

Position: Fullback/wing
Jorgensen comes to the Panthers this year after an incredibly successful 1996 season with the Sydney City Roosters. A former Rugby Union Wallaby, Jorgensen captured the imagination of the rugby league public last year with a feast tries for Sydney City as well as some harmless �skylarking� whenever he scored an important try. Although he has played most of his rugby league career on the wing, new coach Royce Simmons is expected to give Jorgensen the chance to play fullback for the Panthers. A City Origin player for 1996.

Carl Macnamara - No. 11

Position: Second-row/prop
Local Cambridge Park junior, Macnamara has been a permanent fixture in the Panthers first grade side since making his 'regular' top grade debut in 1992. The ultimate recognition of his talent came in 1996 when Macnamara was named �First grade player of the year�. A talented hard running forward with plenty of heart and determination, Macnamara will no doubt be a key player as the Panthers strive for the 1997 Super League semi-final series.

Bobby Thompson - No. 1
Date of birth: 18/7/72
Weight: 82kg Height: 184cm
Position: Fullback
Formally of the Windsor club, Bobby was a mainstay in the Panthers reserve grade side in '94 before bursting his way into first grade for the last seven games of 1995. In 1996 Thompson played the entire season at fullback where his strong kick-returns and reliability under the high ball made him a mainstay in the top side. An incredibly fast learner, Thompson is a definite star of the future.

Steve Waddell - No. 10

After leaving the Panthers in 1991, Waddell had a successful stint with Illawarra for three years before rejoining Penrith in 1995 and playing possibly his best year of rugby league ever. In 1996 Waddell was once again heavily relied on by coach Royce Simmons as one of the side�s �go-forward� men. Waddell is a tireless tackler, a real hard yards man with a heart as big as Phar Lap. A coaches dream.

Barry Walker - No. 27

Position: Prop
A former centre Walker is without a doubt one of the most mobile forwards in the club. Barry has unfortunately been 'dogged' by injuries over the last couple of years but was good enough to play representative football in 1992 when he turned out for City Firsts. Clubman of the Year in 1994, Bazza is known for his ability to go forward and slip a wonderful pass when needed. Injuries were not kind to Walker in 1996 but �97 is a new year and the big prop will be looking to make up for lost time with a big season.

Jason Williams - No. 2

Position: Fullback/wing
Jason Williams is a Kiwi International who toured with New Zealand during the 1995 World Cup campaign. He played in Canterbury's winning 1995 Grand Final side and has a solid reputation as an elusive winger with the ability to score a try from anywhere on the field. For Penrith in 1996 Williams played in every first grade game until injury cost him a spot late in the season. Jason is a tremendous talent and his experience on the wing will be invaluable for Penrith in 1997. Williams recently returned to international football when he represented New Zealand in the recent Super League World Nines Tournament in Townsville.
