March 9 – The Panthers World of Entertainment name will be kicked around a lot in the bush
this year.
The Penrith club has sponsored all footballs to be used in Country Rugby League matches, training and coaching this season.
In all, Panthers has purchased more than 5,000 balls for the CRL and every one of them carries the Panthers World of Entertainment logo.
Panthers Chairman Barry Walsh said the club believed that the future of Rugby League in the country was crucial to the survival of the
game. "We are proud to be involved with the Country Rugby League," he said.
General Manager of the Country Rugby League David Barnhill said that Panthers sponsorship was a boost to Rugby League in country regions.
"The game today is very professional at the top level and many forget the grass roots of the game," Barnhill said. "In this
case the most professional club in the industry have decided to ensure the well being of the biggest nursery of Rugby League in the world."
Each weekend 50,000 players take part in country Rugby League throughout NSW. A further 25,000 schoolboys are also involved in various
tournaments during the season.
